A timeless warehouse rave set in a modern cutting-edge club. Maison was conceived out of the idea that clubbers should be housed in one single space, large enough to support a growing clubbing republic, whilst still maintaining a warmth and personality uncommon in the local clubbing scene.
We drew inspiration from the days of the warehouse raves, in itself known for a shared vibe of common empathy, where the one rhythm was music, the one mission was celebration and the one bond was in togetherness. This warmth was to be reflected in the overall layout of the house that is Maison. Five colonial heritage salons were merged into one seamless space with the exterior façade left relatively untouched in honoring the Straits architectural legacy of the buildings. Inside, a specially constructed DJ console and elevated runway podiums are the focal point of the club, allowing for the evangelizing of dance and music with the DJs and performers maintaining an intimate visual and physical connection with the crowd wherever they may be in the club. The interior décor motives are at the same time sensitive to its heritage yet generously fused with the modern and eccentric. Minimalist bare brick walls reminiscent of the warehouse look and feel are a key feature of the club - its grittiness and edge balanced by warm subtle lighting and rod iron grills.
Ethnic woven sofas are juxtaposed with pearlescent beads and majestic chandeliers gaze in stark contrast over the cement floor typed in gold mosaic. A balcony that overlooks the dance floor seamlessly connects the upper floor with the lower and the people therein. A timeless warehouse rave set in a modern cutting-edge club.
